A Day in the Lives of Kendra and Johnson
Look at me!! I'm Blogging!

Well now... here is my VERY FIRST blog entry.  Who knew that what I'd really been doing all along trying to document our journey was called "Blogging"?  The worst of it is, is that I work in the IT field! HA HA!!

This past week I have not been feeling well at all... I've been out of pain killers for about 7 days now, and well... it's taken it's toll.  I've been feeling really rotten, lot's of pain, and very very tired.  So I gave in and went to the doctor's today.  I had me a good cry, and she explained to me that it's just 6 weeks post surgery, and that there was alot of trama to my muscles and tissue during the operation, and that even though I look as though I've healed on the outside, it's the muscles and tissues that still have not.

So that helped me feel a little more relieved.  I mean I really thought I'd be feeling great by now, but sadly it isn't so.  It's a good thing Johnson's feeling a little better than I, cause he's been taking good care of me!  He's making suppers, kids lunches, emptying the dishwasher etc.  I feel very guilty about not feeling better!  I don't like to burden him or tell him how I'm really feeling sometimes, cause I don't want him to feel bad or worry.  It will just take time.

Now Johnson has a clinic to go to tomorrow at the hospital, and on top of that they have scheduled him to have another renal scan.  This is where they inject a tracer into your body which goes only to the kidneys.  Remember... he has three now, so that should be cool to see.  Then you can kind of see on an x-ray type of machine only the three kidneys.  They are doing this scan because his creatinine has leveled off at 215, and the doctors want to see his numbers go lower to about 110.  They feel there may some residual ATN (Acute Tubular Necrosis) http://www.radiology.co.uk/srs-x/tutors/renaltx/ren3.htm and it needs to be investigated.  Depending on the results of his bloodwork tomorrow, Johnson may need to do a biopsy of the kidney next week.  Please pray for us that this will not be necessary as it's not a pleasant thing to go through, and Johnson really doesn't like it much!

On Sunday we will speak at church.  Our Pastor will call upon us as a family and ask us all types of questions.  It will be our opportunity to thank everyone for all their help and prayers.  Afterwards, I am planning on inviting my whole family back to our house to say thanks and to share food together.  Now... I know what your all thinking, and NO... I won't cook a thing... it will be pot-luck and I'm asking everyone to bring it all.  It's just that I haven't seen any of them since I've been back at home and I miss them all.

Tomorrow after our bloodwork and Johnson's scan, we will go home.  I am excited because a fellow I've befriended via the internet and have never met will be flying into Ottawa, and will drop by for a visit.  He is a fellow Team Diabetes participant and he will be running the BOSTON marathon soon!  Can't wait to see you Peter!  Remember.... I likes me Timmies, Xlarge, double cream! HA HA!!

Well, thanks for reading my very first blog entry, and I can't wait to post more of them if this indeed works!  Cheers!
