A Day in the Lives of Kendra and Johnson
Look at me!! I'm Blogging!

Today was a good day! It was off to our church early morning to drop the kids off at day camp.  You see... today was a PD day at school.  Then it was off to the hospital to do more blood work and to get the results of his last visit, to see if Johnson's creatinine has come down and to see what reducing his medications would do.  Well it was good news all around!  His creatinine lowered again and went from 190's to 170's!  Whoo Hoo!  His hemogloben was up to 102!  Normal is 140 for the average male, but 102 is on it's way up.  Johnson started around the 70's.  So amazing!  We are so happy.  I made an appointment with my surgeon to follow up on the pain I'm still experiencing up top where the camera was inserted.  It's very uncomfortable still.  Since most donors are not followed for any specific period of time, it's important to let them know of any discomforts you may have, so they can collect data and make sure your ok.  So my appointment is next week.

It was nice to see my transplant co-ordinator... I needed to thank her for all her love and support.  She is an amazing woman.  I also ran into one of Johnson's doctors Dr. Lavolie whom I also thanked.  She was so nice to us during dialysis when we were scared to death.  She was the first doctor to ask Johnson what he wanted to do!  Thanks doc!

Then we were off to acquire a BBQ.  I need iron! I need red meat!  I've been without a BBQ since last August when ours broke down completely!  So our BBQ will be delivered next Thursday, fully assembled! IRON!!!  ENERGY!!!

Nap time!  Glorious nap time!  We slept for a few hours and then the kids needed to be picked up.  Rod... our friend from church who co-ordinated all those glorious meals for us, invited us to dinner.  What nice people Rod and his wife are.  They have 2 little girls as well, and one that is in Stephanie's class at school.  What a nice evening we've had getting to know them.

Well now... exhaustion has set in, and it's bedtime for us all!  This weekend will be very low key for us.  Nothing planned at all, just a little TV time with the girls and rest!

Cheers everyone!
