A Day in the Lives of Kendra and Johnson
Look at me!! I'm Blogging!
Oh Sunny Monday!! April 30, 2007

Hello everyone!  Well... we survived the weekend.  This week all of us were sick and I mean sick.  First me in the hospital with severe abdominal cramps, then Johnson wasn't feeling well either.  He too had these abdominal cramps.  Then it was Taylor off to the clinic on Wednesday night to be checked for a bladder infection... she didn't have one, but on Thursday night, Taylor came down with a very bad cold.  Poor thing... runny nose, fever etc.  Then it was off to the clinic on Thursday night to bring Stephanie in.  She was complaining of pain when she pee'd and she was going very frequently and not very much.  She did test positive for a bladder infection, so off to get anti-biotics for her.  I worry all the time about Taylor and Stephanie having kidney problems.  Especially when they have been prone to having at least one bladder infection per year.  This just shouldn't happen to little girls.  So, Taylor is being investigated more soon, and is scheduled for a special x-ray of her bladder and kidney, as well as a renal ultrasound.  She will most likely have these done at CHEO (The Children's Ottawa Hospital) under sedation.   So the kids stayed home on Friday again with mom and dad, as well, we kept them home on Tuesday after our late night at the hospital on Monday.

Saturday, Johnson and I and the girls went to accept our Inspiration Award from The Canadian Diabetes Association.  We were so proud to receive it, and were VERY touched that Jay presented us with it.  Our friend Shannon was there, who was my inspiration to join Team Diabetes and without her inspiring me, none of this would have been possible.  Really this award should have been her's.  Because of Shannon, many persons joined Team Diabetes and raised alot of awareness and monies for the association.   Therefore, we dedicate this award to Shannon...you are truly an inspiration and my HERO!

Well, that's all for now everyone... the countdown begins, and I officially return to work in 7 days.  Next Monday mornings forecast is calling for 27 degrees, and lot's of sunshine!  Good thing... I'll need it! HA HA!!

Cheers everyone!

Kendra and Johnson,

Congratulations on your award. You truly deserve it for all your efforts in spite of all you have been going through. I can't imagine going to Honolulu under the circumstances.

I am so sorry you have been so sice in the last couple of months. I hoped that your poor girls wouldn't suffer along with you but they sound like they have really had a rough week too. I hope you feel better before you have to go back to work. Good luck for when you get back!

All of us out here in Kelowna are thinking about you.
