So what's new and different these days? Well, June and July have been VERY busy for us. We first held our Family Fun Fair on Friday June 15, and raised $3,200. The next weekend we went to Alliston, ON and spoke at Baxter Corporation's 50th Anniversary Party which was much fun. The very next weekend we set up a table inside our local Walmart and raised $5,200!! Next week we host our 2nd Annual Volleyball Tournament and hope to raise a few more $$.
I've been feeling a bit run down with this busy schedule and it finally got the best of me. I've had a bad cough for the last 5 weeks now, which I kept hoping would just go away. So it was off to the doctor's on Thursday night to be told I have a bad case of Bronchitis and Sinutitus. So it's HEAVY DUTY antibiotics for me for the next 10 days. Stay still we're the doctor’s words! Don't be moving around too much and REST. So I call sick on Friday at work and slept until 2:30 in the afternoon. DELICIOUS! Today has been a quiet day.. I didn't move too much, had an afternoon nap... DELICIOUS... and slowly made a delicious roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes and all! Mmmm... We all devoured it! See what you can make when you don't go out running around all day! A HOME COOKED MEAL!
So we have 10 confirmed teams for our Corporate Volleyball tournament which we host next week. I must get better before then! Our local radio station HOT 89.9 will be providing the music for our event, and there will be much food and perhaps a few alcoholic drinks that day too! FUN FUN FUN!
Johnson has been feeling better day by day. We all miss Tasha the dog who had to go to Cousin Becky's because of Johnson's allergies. The girls are doing great! They enjoyed a week and a half home with dad before then started summer camp. They go to our churches Summer Camp which they just LOVE! Lot's of friends to play with, and so much to do! Every day they get to go swimming, do arts and crafts, sing songs, watch a movie etc! They are sooo exhausted when they get home that Taylor says most nights at dinner... "I think I'll go to bed early tonight... I'm tired." Just what every parent loves to hear at night!
Last weekend I went shopping all day with my mom. We were on a mission to buy dresses for my sister Johanna's wedding which is next month! I'm so excited. I'm the Matron of Honor! My mom's dress is so gorgeous and I can't wait to borrow it one day! We are the same shape and size. If I only look that good at her age! When she came out of the change room with it on... the whole store stopped dead in its tracks and stared at her. WOW they all said! She looks stunning in that dress... I was just walking by and heard them... to which I replied... "Yup... that's my mom!" Well her dress cost just a little more than the brides! But man its nice! Now I needed a dress... Just a black dress... all of us are in black since not too many colors look very nice next to the RCMP's Serge's which are a reddish orange. We searched high and low... all the high end shops... all the medium end shops... like really... it shouldn't be that hard to find a nice black dress!? So of all places... I found my black dress at Fairweathers! Who'd of thought? NOT ME!!! Not only do I love it... but it only cost me $79.00 bucks! That's got to be the cheapest dress I've ever bought in my life!
The next day we went to try on the girls dresses at VASTO. Well... they were so gorgeous all made up that Grandma took a whole roll of film of the girls! Even their dresses cost more than mine!
I've been busy getting my speech written for her wedding... busy putting a small movie together of my sister Johanna from birth on up, then her Fiancé Jerry from birth on up and a few family pics in there too! It's going to be beautiful! So much to do... so little time!
So life is good... health is good (well for Johnson anyway). Things are progressing nicely for him... his kidney is doing very well. The children are great... life is good! Life is normal again. Cheers everyone!
