TODAY IS THE BIG DAY!!! Score One for Diabetes Ball Hockey Tournament...
It is currently 2:11 AM and Johnson and I have just finished all the preparations for tomorrow's big event! We ARE EXHAUSTED!!
Wrapping silent auction presents... we have a total of 68 Items for Auction, and are hoping to raise $2,000 with these. Then of course is the $20 per participant registration for the tournament, we hope to raise another $1,000.00. And last but not least, we have 3 local bars who are throwing a "Score One for Diabetes" Block Party. One ticket purchase get's you into all 3 bars for the evening! We are hoping for another $1,000 from the percentage of sales tonight.
All in all, Johnson and I would be SOOOOO PROUD to raise $5,000 from this days activities. The time and energy alone planning such a day's activies should make us proud.
We have Ottawa's own rap artist "BELLY" comming down from 5:30PM to 6:30 PM where he will sign autographs of his newest album for anyone who makes an additional contribution to the CDA.
That plus another $1,000 Package Draw, at $5 at ballot to win this fabulous package generously donated by MOLSON:
Dinner for 4 at St. Louis Restaurant
Limo Ride to a SENS game
4 SEN GAME TICKETS
Limo Ride Home
CRAZY DAY!!! Little sleep... much to do! Please wish us all the best of luck!
Off to Vancouver in 3 weeks to accept the CDA's first ever awarded "NATIONAL INSPIRATION AWARD 2007". Can't wait... so proud...can't wait to see my little sister Johanna who took care of our family during our transplant!
P.S. YES that is my new short haircut I got about 1 month ago. It's growing on me... I like it very much!
HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE, and THANKS to all of YOU who have generously made your $$ contributions to us this week. You all are making a HUGE difference, and Johnson and I are extremely grateful to you all. Thanks for helping us achieve our goal this year...we are humbled by all of you and your generosity. I will personally thank all of you via e-mail, just after we have a chance to recouperate from this ball hockey tournament! Sorry for my tardiness in doing so.
Sue Lee... and Charla...if you are reading this...THANKS FOR SO MUCH! Johnson and I love you both!
